Word of Mouth Network
Hello! Thank you for your interest in the Word of Mouth Network to support the Carroll County Board of Education campaigns for Lisa Maisano and Julie Walsh (the Together for Education Excellence Slate).
(If this is your first time visiting our page, please look around to learn about who we are and what we stand for.)
Our Word of Mouth Network is the simplest (but perhaps most impactful!) way you can help our campaign. To be part of it, simply (1) fill out the form below, and (2) contact a handful of friends to tell them about our campaign, encouraging them to support our effort too.
(Contact your friends however you like – send them a text or email, chat with them on the sidelines of a sports field, connect over a cup of coffee, mention us at the school bus stop – whatever feels most comfortable and natural to you.)
Once you’ve filled out the form, you’ll have access to:
a ONE page explainer of who we are, why we’re running, and what we hope to achieve;
a ONE paragraph script to give you ideas on how you could talk about our campaign with your friends and neighbors;
ONE photo for you to download and keep on your phone (or print and keep in your wallet or purse) which includes a QR code to help people get to the…
ONE link for accessing more information about our campaign, upcoming events, and opportunities to get involved (including the Word of Mouth Network itself).
That’s it! We intend this element of our campaign to be very simple. We know that budgets are tight and families are busy, and that not every supporter of our campaign will be able to donate or volunteer. We hope that by giving people this simple way to support what we’re doing, together we can spread the word to enough Carroll County voters to make a real difference in November.
If Lisa and Julie each got 25 friends to join our Word of Mouth Network, and those friends each got another five to ten friends to join, we’d need just three to four more iterations of unique shares to get us enough votes to win in November. (Isn’t exponential math amazing?)
We know that “politics” has become a dirty word to most people these days, and that many prefer to stay away from political conversations, from advocacy, and even from voting. We share their frustrations! But we ask people to remember that when they stay away from politics – when they stay home from voting, when they don’t speak up – the decisions get made by those who do.
We hope you won’t stay away, that you won’t stay home, that you’ll speak up. We hope you will spread, via word of mouth, the message of our campaign, and that you’ll invite your friends and neighbors to do the same. Thank you for your help!
