Making Sure Staff has the Training they Need
In today’s world, teachers are tasked with data collection in addition to teaching. We want to find ways to help teachers do everything they are supposed to do so they can focus on spending more time on the things that matter. We support training teachers in techniques that benefit kids with different learning styles and abilities. Providing accommodations requires extra time, effort, and skills and we want to make sure that our school system has extra resources dedicated to this. We support training teachers in ways technology can assist them and their students.
We would love to see CCPS be able to offer programs to our students that require additional staff training – examples like the AVID program. AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination and is a proven program in place around the US, Canada, and Australia that equips students with the academic and organizational skills to be successful in life and pave the way for the future they put their mind to. Our students are missing out without sufficient resources to bring this program to CCPS – the only system in Central MD without it.
