Employee Compensation
School employees show up each and every day to support the education of our future generation. They are the ones interacting with our students, building relationships, giving encouragement, and providing support. Especially in light of increasing workloads and responsibilities, all staff deserve to be compensated fairly and respected for the job they do. We are committed to making sure employee compensation is given the attention in deserves to attract and retain high-quality teachers and educators for our students.
Employee compensation has been a challenge for CCPS over the past 15 years. Staff did not receive any step increases in the seven years from FY10 to FY16 and only received a 2.5% COLA in FY16 with the savings from closing three schools. Steps and COLAs have been inconsistent since that time. CCEA and A&S staff were converted to new career ladder as part of the Blueprint in 2025, but CASE employees were not included in the Blueprint requirement. This year a 1% COLA will not take effect until mid-March for CCEA and A&S employees.
